(135) The need of a new unbiased, open-minded, "undogmatic" generation (such as Ros Barber ?) .....

Marlowian R O S. B A R B E R

on the authorship question...

In the long run, it can be predicted that  "Shakespeare Skepticism"  [similar to Christian religious scepticism], will not diminish but grow steadily.

Because of the overwhelming —>  click extent ( & growth) of arguments (one can predict) time irrevocably will come, when Marlowe will be recognized as the author of Shakespeare's plays, a shift of the authorship paradigm will occur sooner or later.

This requires a new unbiased, open-minded generation, however.  One of its  upcoming representatives should be award-winning author and scholar Dr Rosalyn Barber
..

On YouTube,  listen to an (early?) speech of Ros Barber at the George Inn on the authorship question...

Did Shakespeare write Shakespeare? - Ros Barber

(132) Stanley Wells: What about new clues and evidence in the authorship debate?

Sir  S T A N L Y   W E L L S  ( 6 )

dismisses extensive scientific Articles or Books
as guesswork!

Elderly British Shakespeare  Professor Sir  Stanley Wells in a Swiss TV Interview (starting at min: 17.00 lately erased!) on the Shakespeare authorship issue replyed to the question

What do you think about new clues
and evidence in the authorship debate?

Stanley Wells (Excerpt):

I don’t really care because I have no confidence in any of this sort of guesswork. Over many years now, over 50 or more years of Shakespeare studies I have read so many silly things, about the opposition for Shakespeare plays, so many attempts to prove different things about them and from them that I haven’t got much patience with any fresh attempt to do so…

It is noteworthy that Stanley Wells dismisses extensive scientific
Articles or Books as guesswork! One should accept, that Wells has simply ground to a halt somewhere along the  line of his  late life. That's in accordance with

at the end of his life:(1948)

A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponent die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it.”

(131)The final [Shakespeare] authority Tobias Döring and the authorship question: a parlour game as a fast-selling item

  The SHAKESPEARE AUTHORSHIP
and its President of the German Shakespeare Society.

Prof. Tobias Döring (MUNICH)

In the one-hour broadcasting (Bayern 2 ) and TV Show (Bayern Alpha) →"Tagesgespräch" about Shakespeare, April 11 2014, moderated by Achim Bogdahn and studio guest Prof. Dr. Tobias Döring (President of The German Shakespeare Society) , with the participation of the listeners there was one question concerning the authorship problem of 2 listeners, whether there had been Shakespeare at all and wether there exist a conspiracy theory ( Shakspere serving only as a straw man)

Prof.Döring replied :

Translation : "Let me  clear that up: Shakespeare actually existed, and he wrote these plays.
Such speculations and conspiracy theories do exist since the middle of the 19th century , i.e.very late , for 250 years no one had ever doubted the existence of that author [s.
→Blog 50 → 72,  →62, →51, →31, →29, →8, →6 ]and  also  no one doubted that he is the author of all the plays that we know of him, there is actually not the slightest reason to worry about it, it now become a self perpetuating,  kind of parlor game .
Although it would be true that there are no sources about Shakespeare as a literary, highly educated (noble?) Person but only as a businessman, etc. .

Be aware
(by reflecting the LECTURE  of Prof. Bryan Wildenthal
(s. Video Below)
Prof. Dörings. statement on “NO (early) Doubts
of Shakespeare” is definitely wrong!!!

...Since there is so much snobbery , he must have been a nobleman, who traveled the world, who has visited the Universities, ... and that's why there are about 50 candidates who would be presented again and again ... "

Conclusion :   No one can expect that the Pontifex is questioning  his God.

(130) German TV documentary on Shakespeare's Authorship receives the “Bronze Medal“ at the "New York Festivals" 2014

THE NAKED  S H A K E S P E A R E

(TV-documentary)

intends  to illustrate the history and progress of the controversy surrounding the identity of the greatest writer of all time

The documentary film by Claus Bredenbrock (first broadcasted march 17th 2013 ARTE / →WDR) received the “Bronze World Medal, New York Festivals World’s Best TV+Films, USA 2014”, as released April 8th, 2014, in Las Vegas at the →NAB-SHOW.

The TV documentary entitled „The naked Shakespeare“ ("DER NACKTE SHAKESPEARE") intends (as written on their Flyer )“ to illustrate the history and progress of the controversy surrounding the identity of the greatest writer of all time [William Shakespeare] and thereby illustrate both the current research as well as the popular-cultural use of Shakespeare in London.

The film makes it likely that the author had actually visited
Verona, Milan, Pisa, Padua, Venice and Florence.
This reduces the number of people who could
be the true author of Shakespeare's
work as at that time only close
confidantes of Queen
Elizabeth I were
allowed to leave
the Country.

(163) The Washington Post chastises Justice John Paul Stevens..unjustified inoportune slanders of Prof.Gary Taylor.

Prof. G A R Y   T A Y L O R s

 appalling attitude towards Non-Stratfordians

John Paul Stevens (no 62), a retired justice of the Supreme Court of the United States (1975-2010) belongs to the Anti-stratfordians (→ "Wall Street Journal, April 2009") believing the works ascribed to William Shakespeare actually were not written by the man from Stratford.

In an article →"The justice doth protest too much, methinks", April 6,2014, of the Washington Post by fiction Editor, →Ron Charles [left] former Supreme Court Justice was chastised for his interest in the Shakespeare authorship question.

Washington Post quoted  Prof. Gary Taylor[right], editor of “The New Oxford Shakespeare”:

"Anyone is entitled to an opinion about the value of a work of art (...) but there is such a thing as scholarship, even expertise. Conspiracy theories about the authorship of Shakespeare’s plays all depend upon a failure to respect the simple distinction between literature, which rightly belongs to everyone, and literary history, which, like legal history, is not a hobby, but a specialist discipline, best debated and adjudicated by experts. Don’t rely on my opinion of case law, and don’t rely on John Paul Stevens’s opinion about the authorship of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream."

Taylors appalling attitude corresponds to what was expressed in →"Blog157" (experts) , and in →Blog Nr.50!(conspiracy theories)

(126) Any autobiographical discussion about Shakespeares sonnets...

S H A K E S P E A R E   S O N N E T s

Staged small-talk

Avoid under  all circumstances “Autobiografical Aspects”------------------

Stanley Wells                       Paul Edmondson                                         Jonathan Bate

On the occasion (2009) of the 400th birthday of the appearance of Shakespeares Sonnets 1609  Paul Edmondson, Stanley Wells and Jonathan Bate had a staged small-talk about backgrounds of Shakespeare's sonnets.

                                             Click→   Video (40 min...)

Early in the talk, it became clear that they wish at all costs to avoid a discussion about the most interesting question of how to relate autobiographical aspects of the sonnets to any compelling life aspects of the Stratford Person...

Bates:"  They [the sonnets] seem to be great autobiographical poems....now in our discussion, we may well tease away that idea"
Edmondson:    "I ' d like to do that!".-

Conclusion:
You may  learn some interesting facts and fancies about Shakespeare's Sonetts  but nothing about

how it could ever be possible to construct by means of the sonnets an (auto)biographical bridge to Shakspere (Stratford).

(125) The unique power of Shakespeare's words

S H A K E S P E A R E’ s

unimaginable popularity?

April Guldenrath (Colorado Springs) , an English and Philosophy teacher, TED-Ed contributor, uses screencasting to convey content to her students in the most effective way she can, to gain a fuller understanding of the subject matter.

April Guldenraths TED-Ed Cartoon  (together with Cartoonist Franz Palomares ) belongs to the 10 most popular TED-Ed lessons

She took a closer look at Shakespeare’s words --for instance his insults--and demonstrates why Shakespeare is known as a master playwright whose works transcend time and appeal to audiences all over the world.

How can it be comprehensible that not a single letter [ever] have been preserved for posterity somewhere by the most powerful man of the word?

In a basic and fundamental article (March 2014) entitled: "Marlowe Created Shakespeare"

dealing with the Shakespeare authorship question,

                                  Dennis Rawlins,

"The rejection of Marlowe must be 100,00%, leaving no room whatever for doubt of Marlowe's elimination.

Why
Because:  If Marlowe wasn't dead, "Oxfordianism" is !!, and so is "Stratfordianism"..

Unfortunately, the whole story is more complicated. ....

(122) Dennis Rawlins' "pathbreaking" thoughts on the "Stratford and Oxford Myth" ..

DENNIS   R A W L I N S (1)

its latest issue of  DIO, (The  International Journal of Scientific History Vol.18, March 2014), Founder and publisher of the journal, Dennis Rawlins, a critic of orthodox history of science, wrote  a groundbreaking paper (70 pages) dealing with the Shakespeare authorship question, entitled :

"Marlowe Created   Shakespeare"                              (please forward this article)

               http://www.dioi.org/vols/wi0.pdf

From DIO it is said that it has already successfully detected and undone more historical science hoaxes than any journal ever. Even it will take time until the amount of the arguments and facts will be infiltrated by greater public awareness since the vast amount of indisputable facts can no longer be swept permanently under the rug, future will show that  Rawlins work may be called a  milestone in the gradual and necessary abandoning of the Stratford myth.

No one, in the end, will be able to ignore the wealth of arguments of Dennis Rawlins with an exemplary scientific attitude.

But
Rawlins has not brought
the problem to an end,

because he has - unfortunately- not done any investigation or consideration of specific
details of Marlowe's "continued existence".

("his afterlife", "his second life"),

including his stays, his literary and political activities, his correspondence, specific events of his life and death in the anonymity, & concealment etc..
