reminiscent of Marlowe's fate:

In Act III Scene 2 of Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night ,"  Sir Andrew says, that he believed he had seen his niece with the servant of the Duke in the garden. On Sir Toby Andrew' question, "Did she see thee while, old boy , tell me that "  , he makes it  clear " as plaine as I see you now ". Fabio sees this  as proof of her affection to him.  Andrew in his love madness is afraid,  "will you make an ass of me", but Fabio encourages him, "I will proue it legitimate sir, vpon the oathes of iudgement , and reason, they haue beene men Jurie grand , since Noah".

The poet  clearly showed  in this scene that one can legitimize any "deception or false pretence" if you declare  something as just or legitimate to the oath of a judgment and the creation of a "Grand Jury" .

 The scenario is stunningly reminiscent of Marlowe's fate: his supposed corpse was shown after the pretense of his death in Deptford a grand jury of 16 people and an investigating Coroner of the Queen who delivered as a written judgment. (discovered 1925)

(74) Frontline's early " Shakespeare Mystery" .

  experienced  the greatest attention of all authorship theories. 

 Is this JUSTIFIED ?

Almost 20 years  ago,  "Frontline" broadcasted via a non commercial United States-wide local chain of transmitters (The Public Broadcasting Service [PBS]) a documentary on "The Shakespeare Mystery", which is now available, and  also as written script of the film.)

The program made an early  case that the most celebrated writer in the English language was NOT the man from Stratford.

Rather, 'Shakespeare' was a clever nom de plume used by Edward de Vere.

The Oxford-Shakespeare theory so far experienced [unjustified!!]  the greatest attention of all authorship theories. WHY?

Michael Struck-Schloen on  Jan.4th 2014 interviewed Frank Günther, best known contemporary German translator of Shakespeare in

   Klick-->" Radio WDR3 Saturday talk [at time 25,50 min]" . expired!

Naturally, he also sought to focus attention for a moment on  today's authorship doubts and debates.

Frank Günther's conclusion was that  we have an awful lot of knowledge about Shakespeare as a person, on Shakespeare's outer Curriculum, but we just do not know the inner biography :

    ... he just has not written any letter (...) a more or less boring life of a businessman , 

 Such a view  of  the " Banality" of the Bard  - (identical to the view of Prof. Tobias Döring, President of the German Shakespeare Society, ( s.Blog.Nr 6, 8, 20, 29, 31, 48 ) inevitably had to arise as long as one was forced to form a “post festum” image of a personality deducted only from the sparse sources, rather than to question whether there might be some "reasonable reasons" how and 

why it came to such a " precarious " tye of biography,.

The number of books that recognize the true author of Shakespeare's works in Christopher Marlowe is growing.  At the beginning of 2014 appeared an e-book 

Robert Ayres —->  "Inventing Shakespeare".

This fine and  remarkable book, unfortunately, has a fundamental flaw: It derives 
decisive evidences  from  anagram analysis of long Shakespeare texts that Ayres owes to the "art of deciphering"  of the late  Lady Roberta Ballantine (she died in 2008), who bequeathed him her results.

Unfortunately, it is rather impossible to imagine that a majority of a reasonable collective will ever be comfortable with the idea of extracting evidence from extensive anagram analysis of long Shakespeare texts as an acceptable scientific method!,   Since that will by no means  be totally reproducable  independently by any other person. 

With Roberta's "mental obstetrics" alone, Robert Ayres concluded that Marlowe died in 1621 in Venice.

(70) Forget everything which has been learned about Shakspere and start all over again !

What is has in  common with  the "Continental Drift Theory" of WEGENER?

"If you  are to believe in the Marlowe = Shakespeare authorship hypothesis you must forget [almost] everything which has been learned in the past 200 years and start all over again".

 The reaction in scientific circles are reminiscent in many ways to the outrage in publications of unorthodox arguments of the Theory of Alfred W e g e n e r 

When compared with the  Shakespeare Authorship debate. 

Alfred Wegener's theory of the wandering continents ("continental drift") proposed 1912 for the first time ...

contradicted all the facts considered to be confirmed scientifically in the earth sciences. He caused a huge scandal.

Wegener was shaking existing dogmas. He met with widespread rejection, for more than half a century, and brought biting sarcasm and insults upon himself. 

The majority of fellow scientists refused to accept Wegener's theory and called them ideas of an " incompetent lateral entrant " (Wegener was a geophysicist and meteorologist ). 

The president of the American Philosophical Society Rollin Thomas Chamberlin, geologist of the University of Chicago , concluded :

"If we are to believe in Wegener 's hypothesis we must forget everything which has been been learned in the past 70 years and start all over again . " 

Wegener's theory of continental drift has long since become a self-evident truth. Today we can not imagine that his thesis once encountered such a resolute rejection so long. Why does the scientific world fought so vehemently against plausible explanations? None of the old explanation had managed to explain the ever-new questions and insights satisfactory. Only with new observations and research results could change it gradually .

A similar situation is true of the Shakespeare authorship situation and the "identity dogma " [ Shakspere = Shakespeare

(69) The Shakespeare Authorship from....... the point of view of probabilities

P R O B A B I L I T I E S    

An Analysis of Probabilistic Reasoning in the Question of Shakespearean Authorship

Based on four individual probabilities a (low) overall probability of 1: 10 to the power of 15 

results that

 Shakspere was identical with Shakespeare. 

In order to estimate wether the hypothesis, that Shakspere [from Stratford] was not Shakespeare [of Hamlet]), is correct it is necessary to estimate out of various individual probabilities the overall probability by multiplying them [mathematically correct!]. 
Consider (as an example) four individual probabilities on the basis of a rather low, conservative estimate :

1) OVERLAP: Estimated probability that 2 poets, born in the same year [Marlowe/Shakspere] living both in London, did not timely overlap in their literary activity a single day 1:10000 **    
2) EDUCATION: Estimated probability that the universal education, languages  and world knowledge of Shakespeare can not have been taken from the grammar school education from Stratford: 1: 10000
3) ARISTOCRACY: Estimated probability that Shakespeare has not resided in circles of the court and aristocracy for a single day of his life. 1: 10000
4) WILL:  Estimated probability that Shakespeare did not leave a “literary” legacy  in his last will 1: 10000

Based on these four individual probabilities there is a results of a (very low) overall probability of 1: 10.000 000 000 000 000 (by a factor of 10 to the power of 15), that Shakspere was identical with Shakespeare.

  THUS

SHAKSPERE (Stratford) was by no means IDENTICAL with SHAKSPEARE (First Folio)

 Thereby, however, it was not taken into account  that one would have to integrate a hundred additional similar individual probabilities, or a multiple thereof , as shown in the book "The true Shakespeare"

(67) Posener's misconception: Did everyone know the dramatist ("Theatermann") Shakespeare in London at his time?

NO SIGNS THAT  S H A K E S P E A R E 

 ever communicated or corresponded with anyone.....??

 Alan Posener, German author, journalist, editor, columnist wrote on January 7, 2014 in "Die WELT" a review about Kurt Kreiler 's book " The delicate thread that weaves the beauty": One Hundred Poems of Edward de Vere Earl of Oxford and Kurt Kreiler ( Nov.2014 )

Posener, who does not share the conviction  of Kreiler (i.e. Oxford = Shakespeare Thesis), revealed towards the end of his article that in London at the time everyone knew the dramatist  ("Theatermann"[Shakespeare]), who wrote  "Venus & Adonis" and " Lucrece ".

There is, however, no scientific evidence for Poseners statement. An identity in any form whatsoever between the poets name and the person of Stratford could not be provided prior to the publication of the First Folio and the establishment of a bust (1623) in the church in Stratford. If there were  sources to Shakespeare's lifetime, which put him in touch with the author of the works of "Hamlet", "Romeo and Juliet" etc. the authorship debate would probably not have arisen.

Ultimately, the underlying problem relates to the question of 

WHY over a quarter century  nobody ever met in the metropolis of London the greatest poet of humanity in his lifetime, 

the literary Shakespeare,( or has reported about him)  and 

WHY there are no signs that he ever communicated or corresponded with anyone.....??

Richard Roes "The Shakespeare Guide to Italy" recognises with sufficient certainty that Shakespeare's local italian knowledge proves that the poet must have been in Italy .

In " The Merchant of Venice ," Shakespeare knows much about the situation in Venice, on the relations between Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews , as well as the Marranos .

In "Loves Labors Lost" ( Act 4 , Scene 2 ) Holofernes exclaims:

                » Venetia , Venetia , chi non ti vede , non ti pretia !                     
 “ Venice , Venice, who does not see you , does not appreciate you! " 

Doesn't this tell us frankly that the author ‘True’ Shakespeare must have visited Venice and mastered the Italian language ? Both is  not true for Shakspere from Stratford . 10  Shakespeare plays in whole or in part occur  in Italy.

  A strong argument (among many more) why the authorship debate arose was that the plays revealed a distinct  local knowledge of Italy, which can not be attributed to the Stratford man who  never visited Italy.

  Already in 1877 Theodor Elze (<- click) postulated that Shakespeare must have known Venice and Padua from his own experience , since his local information were too precise .  Lately Richard Roe enquired the problem more deeply . For twenty years he had traveled the country to pursue the issue. His book "The Shakespeare Guide to Italy" recognises with sufficient certainty that Shakespeare's local italian knowledge proves that the poet must have been in  Italy

in which all existing arguments and counter-arguments "for" and "against" the Stratfordman William Shakspere as the author of the  canon will be collected,  discussed and weighted online.

In its introduction (in I-Fundamentals ,1.Introduction)  Ros Barber notes:

Second paragraph: The Shakespeare authorship question, despite having arisen over 150 years ago, is still considered taboo in academia; very few English literature departments tolerate even the mention of it and Shakespeare conferences have been known to specifically exclude it from discussion. Until recently, there was no need for such caveats: with Shakespeare sceptics widely dismissed as lunatic fringe conspiracy theorists, no self-respecting academic would consider it a viable research topic.

Where scholars have occasionally addressed it in passing, they have tended to dismiss it out of hand. It is unthinkable that anyone other than William Shakespeare of Stratford wrote the works, goes the response. 

Anyone who suggests otherwise is ignorant, 

deluded, or some kind of snob.

Ros Barber has began temporarily to resist  the  academic taboo sustained for decades.

To consider, discuss and research the  Shake-speare author-ship problem at all, first and foremost requires a distinction between 

 a) the author of the Plays [Shakespeare]
      and

 b) the person from Stratford, [Shakspere]

whom the plays  are usually attributed, in order to avoid wordiness, misunder-standings or repetitive qualifiers.

a) and b) are  said to be one and the same man, but in order to explore  and debate the theory at all, confusion must be avoided.

Shakspere is the spelling recorded on William of Stratford’s baptismal certificate and all "familiar" documents directly associated with him. The vagaries of Elizabethan spelling are acknowledged; arguments derived from variations in spelling are  not dealt here.

Thomas Looney, an English teacher introduced in his book "Shakespeare identified"(1920) the theory that Edward de Vere, the 17th  Earl of Oxford, must have been the author of Shakespeare's works, replacing rapidly  the hitherto most popular  candidate  Francis Bacon. His arguments in the 20th century reached the highest level of acceptance of those who could not agree that William Shakespeare of Stratford was the author of Shakespeare's works.
