(589) The intangibility of the Marlowe / Shakespeare authorship thesis.-

When will Marlowe ever get

 his Chance?

Wittenberg

The (MSA) Marlowe Society of America held its 8th International Conference from 10–13 July, 2018 in Wittenberg, Germany,  an important historic center of both religion and culture in sixteenth-century Germany….its university (now known as the "Leucorea") was made the alma mater of Shakespeare's Hamlet ("Let not thy mother lose her prayers, Hamlet: / I pray thee, stay with us; go not to Wittenberg."). The town also served as backdrop for the B-Text Doctor Faustus, the locale where Faustus first "surfeits upon cursed necromancy" and where his life ends "All torn asunder by the hand of death!"

Could MSA organize a conference with 70 lecturers without sponsorship? No....it is obvious that sponsorship depended on the INTANGIBILITY Of THE STRATFORD DOGMA . Crossing this sacred frontier, (by dealing with the Marlowe / Shakespeare authorship)  the conference and MSA would have had no chance to get institutional financial support.

The International Marlowe Conference featured keynote presentations by all the ultra-dogmatic  Stratfordian scholars such as Lukas Erne (University of Geneva), Kristen Poole (University of Delaware), Holger Syme (University of Toronto) ,  and Meghan C. Andrews [ unfortunately recently deceased!] and many more.

Be aware, Marlowe ( if he is not Shakespeare) is licensed for research (only)  but not for  the prohibited zone of plausible theories ,  the entrance  is advisable only for those who are really independent and free, who have nothing to lose , who are no longer hurt when the official exorcist supervisors of literature signify that "doubting is mental illness " (J. D. Dixon) and these who disobey the blind „Stratfordian or Oxfordian“ faith " are just crazy" (Stanley Wells). And they call themselves scholars?!

Look at the long Marlowe resources bibliography on the MSA home page. And look at the much longer  Shakespeare bibliographies anywhere in the world.  An army of researchers will have to face that their work (sometimes life work) is a pile of scientific garbage. As long as this consacrated legend reigns, it's a better choice for them to accept benefits, job, professional advancement, prestige, reputation instead of riskingCareer Suicide“.- Their price is to accept also the rules of silence (omerta), and put the common sense in the wardrobe — or even better in the safe.

——————————

In Wittenberg Megan C.Andrews (unfortunately deceased in June 2023)

gave a speech on Michael Drayton ,

earlier she had published an interesting  article entitled

For  reasons mentioned above (“Career suicide“), in her article (and at the conference) she didn‘t even dare to discuss a plausible possible  Marlowe / Shakspere connection, which assumes, that (surviving) Marlowe wrote under a multiplicity of pennames including Michael Drayton ...

(588) Shakespeare‘s identity : Encrypted beyond any recognition

ALEXANDER. W A U G H (8)
   Encrypted
beyond any Recognition?

Alexander Waugh

I am  always fascinated by the imaginative power of the human brain in general and  of Alexander Waugh in particular, what a fantastic obsession in a neve-never land, encrypted beyond recognition, decrypted after 400 years, by an 'unleashed' brain.

Alexander Waugh‘s Video
On Thomas Edwards
 Video
Alexander Waugh‘s message (3.8.2020):  Thomas Edwards in 1595 knew that Shakespeare was the pseudonym of Edward de Vere, Earl of Oxford! ....
Can that be true at all?

This time Alexander Waugh in his Video series used Thomas Edwards (TE) a contemporary of William Shakspere „trying to prove that his (TE) witness knew, that Shakespeare was a pseudonym being used by the poeticall 17th Earl of Oxford (Edward de Vere)".

As the decisive piece of evidence
selected TE's" Narcissus".

It remains difficult to understand why Waugh didn‘t give the  full (significant!) title and picture! of TE’s book „Cephalus and Procris“ (1595) and  why in 1595 in the dedication entitled „To the Honorable Gentlemen & true favorites of  Poetrie" the author openly confesses :
" O what is honor without the complement of Fame?"
"...my soul darkened with the terror of oblivion"

Who other than Marlowe in 1595 could have had a motif to explicitly write and reflect such  perspective of life.- . I see no motif for Edward de Vere.

How can we  understand, that  a completely unknown Thomas Edwards was the first author to mention Shakespeare’s op.1  "Venus and Adonis (1593)  in his "Cephalus and Procris" which entered  the Stationers' Register , October  22 1593 -

How can it be that at that early time (1595), TE  in Narcissus is already quoting Marlowes "Hero & Leander ",!??    How  could  he have known from this poem that early, which appeared in print only years later  (1598)?

 Isn't the authorship thesis ...

A.)  that the only existing poet and playwright genius of his time,
surviving  Christopher Marlowe  was the author of  "Venus & Adonis" (1593 Shakespeare's op.1)  and "Lucrece" (1594 Shakespeare's op.2)  far more logic and plausible  ...than

B )  that Edward de Vere, the 17th Earl of Oxford, with no documented capabilities of a playwright genius whatsoever, was the "true" Shakespeare?

(586) The Oxfrauds and their inner dichotomy towards the Marlowe candidacy

Marlowe‘s case could be a very strong one!

Oxfraudians unfortunately handed over their common sense to the cloakroom of the authorship theater...
The Oxfraud community (with about 250 members) stated on their Website that they launched the site, five years ago to a chorus of jeers from Oxfordians everywhere, many of whom wrote to them explaining their insignificance and pointing out that they would be swamped by the onslaught of the new ‘post-stratfordian' paradigm

With an inner joy they express that they „survived that onslaught, and every other one since including "The Stritmatterian Big Fist", the Declaration of Reasonable Unreason, the Wavian Teflon Fortress“ and here they „are still doing business.“

... and „the business end of this argument would [now] be over and Oxfordians rarely would now emerge in public.“
___________________
We learn ...

A) about 102 reasons to dismiss Oxford's candidacy. We learn that since the group first launched the site, the big (authorship) questions have been getting smaller. They ask themselves („strangely!“) „why there is anyone left at all believing in alternative authorship, is the biggest question today .“..but stunningly they also state ....

B) that „there are better candidates ...and alternative candidates.... Most of them better than the Earl of Oxford. „. A heavily commented part of the site.

Christopher Marlowe

Strangely enough you find a chapter about Christopher Marlowe's candidacy …claiming that it has a great deal going for it“.... You learn from Oxfrauds website:

There would be {only} one major hurdle to overcome. If De Vere was dead before a third of the {Shakespeare} plays were written, Marlowe was dead before almost any {? None!} of them were written. Marlowe died in a pub { ?...it was „a house“, owned by Eleanor Bull .....) in Deptford on 30 May 1593 There was a body, there were witnesses, there was an inquest, there were 16 jurors, there was a verdict and there was a funeral.{ really? everything discovered not even 100 years ago}„

„However, the historical sleight of hand required to turn the man from Canterbury into the man from Stratford {would be} only a fraction of what is needed to turn the 17th Earl into Shakespeare. And Marlovians are up to the task. They have an explanation for the witnesses, an alternative body and a host of reasons why Marlowe would want to play dead and could have pulled off a fake killing successfully.

We read..“..If Marlowe didn't die in 1593 and became Shakespeare then there is no need for the preposterous Oxfordian redating scheme. The plays, say Marlovians, were written and performed in an order which follows the rules of history, scholarship and common sense....“

...the rules of Common Sense:

Formulated and written by Oxfraud !

Unlike Oxford, Marlowe was a
gifted writer,
a pioneering playwright,
a superb poet and
a consummate craftsman.
Stylometry even places his vocabulary nearest to the vocabulary used in the canon (Oxford's is out by from here to Venus).

Unlike Oxford, Marlowe was a commoner, a rare visitor to court with no rights or personal experience of courtoisie and matters of detailed hierarchy. His English history plays show shortcomings in knowledge of the court that are

almost identical to the gaps in Shakespeare's knowledge.

Unlike Oxford, Marlowe was a graduate—an intellectual even. The so-called 'missing academic hinterland'
need not be improvised from fable as the evidence is all solid.

Unlike Oxford, there are plausible reasons for the switch with

no need for feeble pseudonymy or
the invention of claptrap like 'the stigma of print'.

Unlike Oxford, the use of a pseudonym in the publication of
Click Video —>Venus and Adonis
supports the argument instead of blasting it to smithereens.

Unlike Oxford, the cover up as Marlowe assumed his new identity in a milieu which already knew him as Marlowe
does not require the incredible invention of a second Shakespeare
to explain away topical references.

——————————
Original Oxfraud text:

"If only Will had made zero impact before the publication of —>Venus and Adonis (a fantastic nonsense!) Marlowe's could be a very strong case.!!!!!!!!"

(585) DOUBLE DUMMY : Oxfraud / Shakefraud! The Questionability of the Shakespeare Authorship issue.

From the worlds most gigantic „writer“
   naming  himself „SHAKE-SPEARE“
never a single („hand“) written [letter]  has ever been discovered.That‘s...

the most Incredible Grotesque:

The world's greatest literary and playwright genius of all time,
who during his entire lifetime (... especially in his 25 years in London)  never communicated (by any note, sentence or letter) with any publicly known person....

Stunningly, that does not need an explanation for the impressive & bizarre „Battle Troop“ (...fighting for „William“ from Stratford) ...called the

OXFRAUD
With their admirable perseverance for the absolute

„Unimaginable“ of a (double) Shakespeare
Authorship falsehood !
———
Believe it or not! There did exist a „William Shakspeare  from Stratford.
But he was no poet and playwright  genius!

He was taken as a protective „Dummy“, a pseudonym ! (for deadly threatened Christopher Marlowe
accused  of  High-Treason & Heresy)

That‘s the even more remarkable
SHAKEFRAUD“!

(582) The Shakespeare Authorship Debate Ends Here — Marlowe’s Smoking Gun

The deliberately overlooked „Smoking guns“
for Marlowe, the most plausible candidate of the Shakespeare authorship debate.

There is only one  but crucial reason why Christopher Marlowe {C.M.}, as by far the most plausible and logic candidate, has constantly been rejected or dismissed by leading „Stratfordian“ academics (as well as by those impressive relentless ridiculous „Oxfraud“ combat troop) in the search for the true poet genius „Shakespeare.

It must be due  to the supposed certainty that the poet genius { C.M.} died too early that he can by no means  play a part in the authorship debate.

———  B U T ————

 ... astonishingly and strangely enough,
Why several historical sources found (which show that Marlowe survived) have not had any significant status to date ?

1599 [May 30]
6 years after Marlowe‘s alleged death a man is documented who presented himself for admissions to St.Albans, The English Colledge at Valladolid in Spain.  -  The College Register (Liber Alumnorum) shows the entry:
 Jo. {hann}Matheus {John Mathew}
   Right Margins.  al {ias} Christopher Marlerus {Christopher Marlowe}

1602 [July 4]
A letter by William Vaughan from Pisa (Italy) to the English Royal court was discovered by Leslie Hotson, wherein you read...
„,,,in the said seminary there is....one Christopher Marlor (as he will be called) but yet for certainty his name is Christopher, sometimes Master of Arts of Trinity Colledge in Cambridge, of very low stature, well set of black round beard, nor yet priest, but to come over in the mission of the next year ensuing....

1604 [Aug.3 - Sept.23]
Gatehouse (Prison)London Westminster

Committed by my Lo: Chief Justice      Christopher Marlowe, alias Matheus, a seminary priest oweth  for 7 weeks and 2 days

_____________________________________________

The influential Marlowian Peter Farey has discussed the subject but came to the opposite  conclusion that a certain „John„ Mathew used the alias name of Christopher Marlowe.

Farey‘s logic is, however not convincing... given all arguments and facts

http://marlowe-shakespeare.blogspot.com/2010/07/john-matthew-alias-christopher-marlowe.html

_________________________________

For an abundance of  reasons, ( click links). there can be little doubt, that Christopher Marlowe used the name „Mathew“ as an alias Name , he used , however  „Tobias“ ,or „Tobie“ (Mathew) as the prename.

The fact, that Francis Bacon (living at the same time as Marlowe /Shakespeare in the same City in London) in his entire life never ever used or wrote the name „Shakespeare needs a plausible explanation: Bacons  impressive contents of his  documented correspondence with „his alter ego“ Tobie Mathew clearly prove, that Tobie Matthew was an alias for concealed Marlowe/Shakespeare.

(498) The yet rejected solution of the Shakespeare Author-ship controversy!

A R G U M E N T S   WHY

THE “TRUE” AUTHOR of HAMLET ",

poet genius Christopher Marlowe,

throughout his life (1564-1655) wrote under a

multitude of pseudonyms of an unprecedented scale.-

a) a single pen name (such as "Shake-speare") wouldn't have kept the "true" author   sufficiently protected  or secret. - „Fans“ gradually would have learned who wrote what, under which name, considering the gigantic literary output of the true "author",  of a hitherto unknown extent.

b) multiple pen names must had have a business necessity based on such things as contracts with different publishers, etc. -

c) multiple pennames for divergent book genres (...having a different audience)  have also been used as  a matter of a sales point:

d) the author could use greater freedom of language by hiding  under different names of translators
(Such as Joshua Sylvester......

e) the author could choose names from the outset, for a novel playing in a foreign country or to spread  transnational knowledge by using french  (e.g. Abraham Fraunce, Everard Guilpin) , italian (e.g. John Florio, Guicciardin) or spanish (e.g. Aleman) author names

f) a pseudonym improved the market chances of some  works. E.g.  female gender domination in the genre belonging to the other sex, (e.g. Jane Anger, Elisabeth Grymestone, Rachel Speght, Ester Sowernam, Constantia Munda,  Aemilia Lanier) or using only the initials or the initials of the first names so that the author's gender can not be identified,

g) the author choose easy-to-relate pseudonyms or existing names of known deceased or living people that readers  - as a recognition effect - might reference or remember more easily. (e.g. T. Overbury , R. Southwell, G. Chapman,  W. Shakespeare)

h) in order to avoid a conflict of "shame",  writing putative "trifling", commonplace or „minor“ literature might like to prevent from learning with a pseudonym. ( ...such as Bartholomew Griffin, William Clarke, Nicholas Breton, William Basse, Richard Barnfield ,William Warner...etc.)..

i) many more

This solution, which may seem absurd to many, will only open up to those who are fully acquainted with the immense contemporary literature of the Shakespeare period (->Video 1and who considers the Marlowe Thesis (Video 2)

(477) David Kathmans insipid denial of a Shakespeare authorhip controversy

 D A V I D  K A T H M A N

For  him the  Marlowe /Shakespeare idea has not even a fringe status

within the  field of Shakespeare authorship studies -

What an Arrogance!

David Kathman

David Kathmans Chapter 110 in Vol.2

David Kathman
at present  is a chartered Financial Analyst who makes his living as a mutual fund analyst for Morningstar in Chicago.

He has a PhD in linguistics from the University of Chicago.- The majority of his scholarly and media work  over the past decade deals with Shakespeare, especially  the Authorship controversy.-

He is an ultra-conservative /ultra-orthodox Shakespearean / Stratfordian who  believes that doubt about the authorship  is not justified and that...

...an authorship question does not exist in reality!.

In Volume 2 of the   Handbook "A Cambridge Guide to the Worlds of Shakespeare" Kathman with his "longstanding expertise as a denier" of a Shakespeare authorship problem obviously was commisioned to write the

His chapter argues against Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford and neither  discuss nor  mention even once  the authorship candidate Christopher Marlowe, even though recent monographies (e.g. C.Hoffman, S.Blumenfeldt, D.Pinksen, B.Conrad a.o.) and media contributions on  the Marlowe issue are worth discussing.

Kathmans attitude reminds on the 9/11 Commission Report (2004 Chief Editor Philip D. Zelikow) which analyzed the cause of the rapid  symmetric fall of the twin towers hit by 2 planes but didnt even mention the symmetrical vertical free fall of a third skyscraper (WTC-7) with no plane hitting the building.
       An inexcusable trend-setting inner attitude...

David Kathman belongs to the so-called  "industry in denial".-

Compare his preconceived opinion below (expressed in the last sentence of his chapter)  with  the "Rebuttals to the Industry

Last sentence (conclusion) of Kathmans chapter 110.

(456) Anti-Stratfordians(1), Anti-Shakespeareans(2)! What's the difference? 2 is a personal attack: You are dishonorable!

Picture

Ignoring the "Shakespeare Doubters"
will not make them go away.(s.Video below).

Increasingly Shakespeare Academics have started to employ the term "Anti-Shakespearean" (=NON-Stratfordians) for those who harbor  doubts about  the rationale, that the author of Hamlet                                                             is not the Author of HAMLET

Clearly the term "Anti-Shakespeareans" is misleading and suggests that doubters dislike Shakespeare. Quite the opposite is true: they are higly interested in  the works and their writer. But also the traditional term
    "Anti-Stratfordian" is unnecessarily contentious....

....the more neutral term "Non-Stratfordian" is preferred-

PictureFrank Günther
Frank Guenther,(1947-2020) todays most renowned German translator of Shakespeare's works in his book "Our Shakespeare" (2014) calls  those who do not recognize the Stratford-Man as the author of Shakespeare's plays "Anti-Shakespeareans".-

One can assume with some certainty that our linguistically most proficient german translator has done this deliberately to disguise its baroque falsifying polemics.
By the term "Anti-Shakespeareans" someone is defamed in the first place,
because he takes a stand against  Shakespeare. -

To speak out against a business man from Stratford, which had to be chosen as a masking person for life rescue of  the great poet, Günther well knows to put to a stop. He clearly uses  this "language imprecision"  strategically:

Only a philistine can have something against Shakespeare! Who would want to be a philistine? The clarifying term "Anti-Stratfordian" Günther fears  like the devil  the holy water in order to disguise or getting around the legitimate authorship problem, he has never tried to understand. -

We should   reject attempts to reframe “Non-Stratfordians” as “Anti-Shakespeareans.”

(443) >100 Unanswered Questions about the Shakespeare Authorship.

An endless and  fruitless Shakespeare
A u t h o r s h i p  debate  will last forever ...

 ......unless  the Marlowe-Shakespeare authorship thesis
(a true historicall conspiracy !)  is no longer disposed
at the landfill of conpiracy theories ....

The Stratford Dogma causes more problems than it solves.

Its widely-held prevailing concept needs a paradigm shift, a reorientation involving the incorporation of new concepts into mainstream thoughts, seemingly contradictory or radically different from the traditional view.

The seemingly never-ending controversy of Shakespeare's authorship is resolvable.

The very many unanswered questions posed in this video
can  be answered without exception and without compulsion,
if accepting a historically necessitated conspiracy:

There was only one truly great poetic genius in his time, Christopher Marlowe, who in his 30th year (May 1593) was threatened by execution, following slanderous accusations against him by the English crown and church.

A feigned death, staged in Deptford with the help of the Queen and her Senior adviser William Cecil, saw him banished for his own safety, but at the price of a permanent change of name and identity.

This thesis, followed by the continuance of his writing under multiple masking pseudonyms, including Shakespeare, is valid, not merely hypothetical. We reach it with a high degree of certainty. It should end the bizarre and historically unique authorship debate.

The camouflaging pen-name Shakespeare was adopted in June 1593 and used on a single-page dedication for the poem "Venus and Adonis", ten days after Marlowe’s body was allegedly buried in St Nicholas churchyard on the edge of Greenwich and Deptford.

We suggest that the name was used because the businessman William Shakspere of Stratford was on the spot in London and was paid to add extra pseudonymous ‘cover’ for Marlowe’s escape.  His evocative "masking" Name bought silence and a future gravesite to ensure the survival of the poet genius. -

The "covert situation" reminds one to current practices of  hidden "false flag" covert operations ("insider jobs" such as WTC-7).

There   exists a negative correlation between "Stratfordianism" and the amount "of  specific Knowledge"!
