(139) David and Goliath: Two German Shakespeare Societies

 David and Goliath:

Two German Shakespeare Societies

Would there be any difference if it turned out that both companies had relied on the " false " candidate (William Shakspere from Stratford)  of the "true" poet genius, who used his name as a pen name? (William Shakespeare )

In Germany , there are currently two Shakespeare Societies:

a) a large, traditional "Deutsche Shakespeare Gesellschaft"(DSG),  it recognizes without a shred of doubt William Shakespeare from Stratford as the author of the works of William Shakespeare. The Society has a number of a few thousand members and is celebrating its 150th anniversary in April 2014.

b ) a tiny "Neue Shake-speare Gesellschaft" (NSG), which was founded in 2010  which has a small number of members (<50 ? ) it recognizes  Edward Vere, Earl of Oxford,  as the true author of the works of Shakspeare.
The NSG is not, as it claims on its Website  open to all who are fundamentally interested in Shakespeare [authorship] Research, but it has been definitively determined on Edward de Vere as the true Shakespeare. -

Its founder and spirit was Robert Detobel (1939-2018)

Wouldn't it be an irony of history, if it would turn out that both companies, DSG and NSG, have relied on the " wrong " candidates?
