(144) Fleet Street London, The Shakespeare Authorship debate will not vanish ..

The authorship debate has  reached the Royal Family....

Prince Charles, an orthodox Stratfordian, president of the Royal Shakespeare Company, wanted some arguments to put in front of his dad.

The Spectator reports on a  Shakespeare authorship debate at Ye Olde Cock Tavern, Fleet Street in London, April 30th 2014, an event hosted by the Central London Debating Society. (s.The video below!)

The Spectator tells you, that anti-Stratfordian’ Alexander Waugh and fellow author Ros Barber roundly thumped Professors Duncan Salkeld and Alan Nelson, and that almost everyone at the packed tavern was willing, by the end, to concede that the Shakespeare Authorship Question deserves to be studied in schools and universities. If the man from Stratford did not write the plays, who did?

The Spectator also reported that Prince Philip had joined their ranks. The scholar Stanley Wells was quoted in the Mail on Sunday as saying he had ‘crossed swords’ with the Duke of Edinburgh, who reportedly believes that diplomat Sir Henry Neville is the mastermind behind Shakespeare’s works. Meanwhile, Professor Jonathan Bate has revealed that Prince Charles,[ an orthodox Stratfordian] president of the Royal Shakespeare Company, ‘wanted some arguments to put in front of his dad.

Does the Authorship Question Matter?
