Big Think is an Internet Forum featuring interviews, multimedia presentations and discussions from a wide range of fields. - In a you tube video of Big Think the british actor Michael_York was reflecting on William Shakespeare's genius.
The last question to him was:
"What do you make of Shakespeare's true identity?"
Michael York began with a counter-question:
Are we better off if we know exactly who Shakespeare was? Are we to accept the Stratfordian Candidate .- For my money it is a little unlikely.-
He is a man who could barely write his name, whose wife is illiterate, with no books,....it seems that the William Shaksper of Warwickshire is not the brilliant genius, the Willim Shake-speare Elisabethan give away for pseudoname , who wrote these plays...
...my own feelings as a candidate the Earl of Oxford Edward de Vere is highly plausible ... but the smoking gun that will link him ...... .... Are we better off knowing who he is , or are we just well off just having what wrote
...I think ......we are better off, if our understanding and our knowledge is broadened ....it regularly increases and intensifies the experience and enjoyment of art...
