In the tragic last poems (from Cantus LXVIII) of AVISA the author reveals 
in desperate frankness his fate. The poems 68-73 can only be understood
 as shocking metaphors for Marlowe's downfall.
Cantus 68 describes "metaphorically" the moment of Marlowe's life
 turning point ("the wounded deer,...deadly wounded, by fatal Hand
 & ,..but he has to "find the way to waile while life doth last."(S.Faksimile)


Cantus 69 brings it to the point: "and mark it well what they [the lines] 

shall say", [If ".... then read them all , they do but show their maisters fall").
In "The Autors Conclusion" it once again becomes evident, 
that AVISA is the authors own self: his Muse

Then blame me not, if I protest my sillie Muse shall still commend
This constant A [visa] , above the rest

Announcement in the Epistle of a dislosure of the author itselfe, his name and his owne "desire/sentiment"[love] starting at cantus 44

Those who are not aware of the Marlowe / alias Shakespeare thesis will not be able to  decode the meaning of the Poem of 

"WILLOBIE HIS A`VISA". 

The epsistle tells the reader  that from cantus forty foure [44] to the end he will be informed about the author, his name and own desires.-,[Faksimile 2]

Cantus XLIIII[44], written suspiciously in prose, reveals the covert fact [Faksimile 3] about the author that he came suddenly into contact (being sodenly infected with the contagion) with a fantastical fit: i.e. his name was fitted  "fantastically" with another one.[Shake-speare]..

At the first sight of "A" (of his beeing a "NON" existence, i.e. his muse beeing  no more visible  A'VISA) he fell into deep sorrow  (he pyned a while in secret griefe),  and on the long run he was not able any longer

a) to endure his situation (the burning heate of so servent a humour)
b) to divulge ("bewray") the secresy of his disease unto W.S.
This passage - you have to realize it!- clearly  represents an early (1594) contemporary allegoric depiction of Marlowe's fall into anonymity, into the abyss ("A"), into the loss of identity, and the transfer to another person W.S.

Shakespeare-Expert Charles Hughes was convinced in 1904 that W.S. (Harry) in »Willobie His Avisa« must have been William Shakespeare: »T
he cumulative evidence makes it almost certain that the W.S. of the poem stands for William Shakespeare

Also the subsequent cantus (45) leaves no doubt, that the destiny of the life-threatened author forced him, to give up his identity   »one, which beeing parted then in twaine«).

The author is awake and alive [vigilantius, not dead] but at the same time nowhere around but asleep [dormitanus], which reminds one to another "contraritie" signature of a letter Malvolio reads in Shake-speare's "The Twefth Night" II/5:

The poem "WILLOBIE HIS AVISA"(1594)  is a "complex literary puzzle of the highest order"

The level of sophistication  makes it certain that it is attacking a "real" situation.- The author  follows  the philosophy of Shakespeare outlined in "The Twelfth Night-" (Malvolio II/5"...put thy selfe in the tricke of singularity. She  thus advises thee, that sighes for thee.)
The poem, (which appeared 1594 within the year  after the enforced removal of Marlowe) is a refined inner dispute between the author and his muse of sudden invisibility [AVISA], his inner godesses of  inspiration of literature, science and arts about his destiny. The  life threatened author must have taken every precaution not to be identified.-

In the "Apologie" of the second edition (1596) the author discloses in more detail the true meaning: the poem is not about a real woman but about a  specific (allegoric) situation of its author and his concealed invisible  muse "AVISA", she was not allowed to bee seen publicly. She became an invisible, A=Non VISA. (read Faksimile) -  Ist author Marlowe had disappeared because he had to disappear.-

Superficially "Willobies AVISA" is narrative educational libel, a satirical dialogue in poems between the author H.W., his love AVISA and various suitors.

Profoundly however the poem is a complex puzzle of a inner dispute between the author and his muse [AVISA - his inner godesses of inspiration, of literature, science and arts] about his destiny.

The author follows the philosophy of Shakespeare outlined in "The Twelfth Night-" (Malvolio II/5"...put thy selfe in the tricke of singularity. She thus advises thee, that sighes for thee.)

I agree with M. Mooten that "Willobie His AVISA " is not a harmless work rather it is a "pasquinade of the highest order".

The level of sophistication and the negative way that the work depicts aristocrats makes it certain that it is attacking a specific situation and a circle of persons and aristocrats. - The concealed, life -threatened author [Marlowe] must have taken every precaution not to be identified.

- Its publication was suppressed (1605, 1609) , the book was recalled and burned, indicating that it disclosed true, non fictional facts. - The first edition 1594 obviously resulted in significant controversy. In the 1596 Re-Edition a small new adress to the readers appears to be going into damage control ( Addendum: Apologies-) - The author now stated that the work was entirely fictional, that Avisa represents no specific woman.- (next blog)
Nowhere on the title page the name Henry Willobie appear as being the author of this work: this casts doubt on the authorship of this work. From the start of the book clearly suspicious indications surfaced that the entire book is dressed ironically.
The epistle writer Hadrian Dorell indisputably is not sincere! No historical trace of him has ever been found and the name is clearly fictional. He delivers his opinion more fully thereafter [preface], touching the matter itselfe, the nature, wordes, gestures, promises and very quint-essence, is it were [Faksimile 3]. Dorrell must be equated with his own author, the author of AVISA, (Shakespeare- I mine Author have found a Britayne Lucretia) [Faksimile 2]

Willobie his Avisa represents "A plaine Moral plot" (i.e. A conspiracy), secretly insinuated) ...
The title lines (s. Faksimile -1-) inform the reader at first to read the Epistle. There [s.Faksimile 3, excerpt!], the writer Hadrian Dorell clearly informs the reader

a) that from Canto 44 to the end of the book the author names himself and descríbes his own love (his own destiny- AVISA - the hidden presence of Marlowe alias Shakespeare- next blogs )

b) that the author meant to show that such things have happened indeed...

c) that these things are altogether a feigned matter, both for the names and the substance and

d) that the feigned matter is a plaine moral plot ("a conspiracy"), secretly insinuated

(392) The perplexing confessions of the "true" Shakespeare in AVISA:"

The seemingly absurd assumption

 of a Multiple Pseudonymity of the true Shakespeare (Marlowe) 

can only be accepted gradually!

That "Shake-speare" was just one of many pen names of the true poet genius, who wrote Hamlet or King Lear, is not possible to convey until today.
  The claim of the revised Marlowe Thesis that even contemporary english literary giants such as George Chapman, Thomas Heywood or Michael Drayton have been pseudonyms or pennames of the true poet - up to now - is interpreted as the mad offspring of a diseased brain ...just as insane as the claim that 75 contemporaries of Shakespeare wrote the works of Shakespeare :

The very idea that so many people have been suggested as the author of Shakespeare's work in itself to me is enough to show that it is a mad idea, it's just crazy!

To think however that the true author of “The Tempest“ or the "->The Winters Tale (Book  chapter 11 p-390-405)“ did not publish 18 plays during his own lifetime; nay, more, that so careless was he of his fame that he left it in doubt whether half the plays attributed to him were really written by him, requires a rationale plausible explanation!

If we ever were to succeed in accepting the Marlowe Authorship Thesis (Briefly: the true matchless gemius and "poet" was forced to feign his death, change identity and hold to his promise to never identify himself and to write under multiple pen names), this can only be achieved in incremental steps rather than all at once.-






A first step is to provide and to accept evidence that Marlowe was hiding behind individual author-pen names -
Blogs 391-398 regard the narrative poem "Willobie His Avisa" (1594) of an anonymous author "H.W." supposed to be Henry Willobie. The poem entered in the registers of Stationer's Hall on 3 September 1594.
In 1886 John Leigh, President of the Spenser Society, wrote in a preface to a Reprint of AVISA that Henry Williobie could well have been a pseudonym .(s.next Blogs)


Significant arguments (s.subsequent Blogs) imply that the author of "WILLOBIE HIS AVISA" has been the "true" Shakespeare [alias Marlowe]

(391) Shapiros haughty ignorant attitude towards a Shakespeare authorship!

On the occasion of his new book "Contested Will" James Shapiro had an interview with Dana Gioia , Director of the Harman-Eisner Program , Aspen Institute on the Shakespeare authorship.-(Astonishingly Gioia confessed that his Champion is Christopher Marlowe.-)
At the beginning Gioia asked Shapiro to summarize the evidence why Shakespeare was Shakespeare (see blog 102)


Shapiro expressed: „ The truth is: I am not very interested in what people think ( which is a terrible thing to admit, but I‘ll admit it), because those of you who are engaged in arguments with anyone (wether arguments about abortion or creationism or wether the holocaust exist or hundred of other arguments) you learn pretty quickly what positions are , that positions are fixed and no discussion of any issue that I have ever encountered are positions more fixed and might less easily changed than the authorship question.
Why do smart people think dum(p) things (….) why they are saying it, ? because – unlike questions like holocaust, creationism or even abortion and other contested issues it‘s very hard with those issues to track historically when ideas developed to the point where a theory emerges.-
But with this particular case I was able to say with great confidence no one was able to think that somebody other than Shakespeare wrote the plays until the eighteen-forties 200 years after Shakespeare left …"…


What a haughty ignorant attitude! Shapiro is not interested what people think, i.e. in their arguments, (an immnese literay history of reflections and arguments!!) , his positions is fixed, his ideas have developed to the point of a theory .

It‘s ridiculous to claim with great confidence that no one was able to think that somebody other than Shakespeare wrote the plays until the 1840th.-

Shapiro’s position fixated beyond recognition!

THE FIRST ROUND OF THE MATCH
Prompted by the release of Roland Emmerich’s film Anonymous  2011 and the “Declaration of Reasonable Doubt” (meanwhile signed by over 5000  individuals)  the Shakespaere Birthplace Trust (SBT) felt the need to put an end to the erosive development of the Shakespeare Authorship debate, once and for all, by publishing a book "Shakespeare beyond Doubt," a Collection of 20 essays:-





Soon afterwards  a reply book "Shakespeare beyond Doubt?" with an identical title (but a question mark)  tried to expose the bankruptcy of the SBT claim and challenge them,  to defend their Position !















THE SECOND ROUND OF THE MATCH
Meanwhile the Shakespeare authorship battle seems to have  entered  the second round.-
James Shapiro lately wrote a book "1606 William Shakespeare and the year of Lear",  soon afterwards a Reply book appeared  "Contested year -The year of lear Shakespeare 1606" -

Oxfordians lately have produced a Reply Statement (E-Book) "Contested year"  against James Shapiros book  "1606,  the year of Lear".-    One could have predicted that the "Oxfordians" (a subgroup of the "Antistratfordians", who claim  that Edward de Vere, the 17th Earl of Oxford was the real Shakespeares ) would submit a cross  statement", since Shapiros description of the world of Shakespeare in 1606 totally  undermines the Oxfordian position by alleging that  three major plays could not have been written until after Oxford’s death in 1604."




"Contested year" is a collection of factual errors that infest every chapter of Shapiros "The year of Lear".- But the dilemma will remain: Both sides  

a) Stratfordians (" William Shakspere from Stratford  wrote the Canon" and 
b) Oxfordians  ("Edward de Vere wrote the Canon ")  

are ill equipped and won't get far.-
This explains the "dead heat" for almost a century .
Neither "William" from Stratford nor "Edward" , the Earl of Oxford.

That will only change after a basic shift of paradigm. blog 389- 

....on the long run Marlowe has the best cards.

(389) Can we ever expect a "paradigm shift" of the Shake-speare Authorship Dogma?

A  paradigm Change/Shift  will only  slowly arrive

Those who make the statement: "The scientific question of Shakespeare’s authorship is settled, there is no room for discussion" need to read Thomas S. Kuhn

The Structure of Scientific Revolutions“ published 1962

and come to grips with the reality that all knowledge is inevitably socially constructed.-

Thomas Kuhn popularized the phrase „paradigm shift“ (which he didn’t use) and gave it the meaning it has today. After Kuhn Science is not an objective search for "truth" as many people believe. Instead, "normal science" is a problem solving endeavor. When it leads to anomalies that can no longer be explained within the established paradigm, crisis ensues which is resolved through the establishment of a new paradigm.

This is the case for the Stratford dogma, which causes more problems than it solves. Its widely-held prevailing concept needs a paradigm shift, a re-orientation involving the incorporation of new concepts into mainstream thought, new information seemingly contradictory or radically different from the traditional view


...and the "paradigm Change/shift" will only be achieved when the more radical contradictory view is accepted that the pen name "Shake-speare" was but one of many feigned author-names of a singular author (of Edward II /III and Richard II/ III).
