February 26, 2014 →Eva Pfister, writer and journalist, produced for the daily → "Calendar Page " of German-Radio Culture a radio broadcast about Christopher Marlowe on the occasion of his 450 birthday .
Mrs. Pfister finally concluded :
[Translation] He[MARLOWE] was only 29 years old and at the height of his fame , when stabbed to death May 30th 1593 in a pub in Deptford . Probably they wanted to eliminate a potential traitor. Rather absurd though is the idea that this was just an apparent death , and Christopher Marlowe wrote his immortal dramas under the name of Shakespeare.
